Futsal Rules

Fast, Fair, and Fun – The Way the Game Should Be Played
Futsal follows the same spirit as soccer, but it’s faster, tighter, and built for skill. Here’s what every player should know before stepping on the court.
        Game Basics
  • 5 Players per Team: Four field players and one goalkeeper.
  • Substitutions: Unlimited and “on the fly.”
  • Game Length: Two 20-minute halves (running clock).
  • Ball In Play: The ball must stay below head height; kicked-in restarts replace throw-ins.

    Gameplay Highlights
  • Kick-Ins: When the ball goes out, it’s brought back in with a kick, not a throw.
  • Goalkeeper Rules: The keeper has four seconds to play the ball and cannot receive it again until it crosses half.
  • No Offside Rule: Encourages creativity and attacking play.
  • Restarts: Corner kicks, goal clearances, and free kicks follow futsal’s quick restart pace.

    Fouls & Fair Play
  • Accumulated Fouls: Each team is allowed five per half; the sixth results in a 10-meter penalty kick.
  • Sliding Tackles: Not permitted when an opponent is nearby — safety first.
  • Sportsmanship: Respect for officials, opponents, and teammates is mandatory.

Play the Game the Right Way
Futsal rewards creativity, teamwork, and quick thinking. The rules keep the game fast, fair, and skill-focused, helping players grow smarter and sharper with every touch.
